About Dick

Dick Smith, born 1981, has been painting all his life. He has evolved his own unique styles and subjects, ranging from
his magical illustrative drawings and paintings to bold inventive oils and acrylics of local scenes and landscapes.

Dick finds it hard to describe himself – he says he just loves the pleasure of painting – of seeing a picture emerge from a blank canvas – and the challenge of trying to express the vastness of nature’s landscapes within the limits of a canvas.

He lives in Devon now, concentrating full-time on painting. We first met him in St Ives, where he was also appearing as an accomplished actor either at The Minack, outdoors in St Ives on The Island, or at Kidz R Us,
performing roles from Shakespeare to Soggy the Bear! In Devon he fills spare moments building Yurts, like the one above – which have multi pupose uses, such as, say, a studio! Even a gallery!

We have a warm relationship with Dick and love seeing how his talents have developed, resulting in a rapid rise in the number of enthusiastic collectors.

We are delighted that he chose Imagianation as his gallery in St Ives and we try always to keep a good range of his work on display.
